Anyone have any experience with the "king"? I see his ads on epay fairly often and his stuff is pricey. Thanks, BigGreen

Greenie, I see his stuff all the time on the bay. He seems to get some nice and interesting stuff, but boy he doesn't give anything away. Makes you wonder if he actually sells the stuff for those prices So is he the CSK? CSW

I've got one saw that I can think of from him in the past and it was OK. The only negative comments I heard I think was dealing with a J-Red 111. Seems there was something awhile back on Magnus's site, but I could be wrong. Ain't it funny how we tend to remember the negative things so well!

Yes sir, I try to be, as does the majority of our family. Not claiming to be perfect, but we do hold on to these values.

I have dealt with Rich a few times. He has always had outrageous shipping. Once in awhile the saws are as decribed. Mainly they are very tough. That is just my opinion and means nothing

Arthritis making me cranky, Mexico is too close, besides the French need at least a good strong EMP.

I agree, Bill's opinion is good. Me on the other hand would like to nuke France. I am not sure a nuke is in order but I do not have any respect for the French goverment. If my uncle's had not given up their lives in WW2 they would weigh in now. I can say I have a real problem with something about our boys having to fly around France to bomb Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi. It was sad our boys were not able to kill him. If the French had a pair of balls then maybe our boys would have been able to kill Gaddafi. Insted we ended up with his step-daughter. get the bastard. She had nothing to do with what was going on in Libya. Bill

Oh yeah Bill, a nuke is in order. My prescription for the new age. Use as directed, repeat as necessary.

I know I am goung way off topic but heck I am always way off.
Too most my last post probably made no real sense. To those around in the 80's it should. That bastard's real nane was just as I posted. Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi. Most just called him Gaddafi. As for the French I have very strong opinions that have no place in a open forum.

Getting back to the topic. I have purchased 2 saws from Roger over the years. The first was a Homelite 750 with a 34 inch bar about 5 years ago. The second was a Homelite 650 (actually my buddy bought it via my direction).
The 750 costed me about $250 back then. The 650 costed my bud about $ 400 shipped if mem serves ok.
The 750 is/was great. The 650 was not really represented with complete truth. It needed TLC and the muffler was welded/brazed and someone really tore up the cylinder cover which was conveniently left out of the pictures. The 650 does run very well which was an accurate description.
He now uses U-Tube to show shop video of the saws he sells.
Overall, if you buy a saw from him that he says runs well. It will run well. Ask questions if you have them and he will answer them.
He is located in Oregon, not Kalifornia.
As far as the big saw question, well he lives where everyone runs big saws. So, I'm sure his shop has BIG saws coming in and out routinely. Thats why he gets to trade / sell them etc.
Big saws cost big bucks. Take a look at a new saw price for a 100cc saw and I don't think you will think SK's prices are that bad. But, it is an auction so he who bids wins.
Best of luck to all, now off my Hi horse........J

I like the statement:
Why is there never enough time or resources to do things right the first time and always enough time to do something again.

All it takes is resolve, politics is the limiting factor. Even in our current depleted condiction, the US could conqure the globe is just a few months, if given a free hand. Of course there would be vast areas of uninhabitable land. Make a few examples, the rest would follow. Everybody deserves to be free and equal, whether they want to or not.

Who knew that ol Dougan would spark such a sharp political debate? I've bought about 4 or five saws from the "king" over the years and have some minor issues here and there, but the powerheads always ran well. He does put the worst chains on his complete saws though and is not real helpful when you have a problem with his merchandise. I would classify him as "out to make a buck" but not deliberately dishonest.
