Dan, I read what is written. Here once again you have lost me. If you have a problem then freaking call me. Bill 309-537-3181 Bill, Since you have the ability to read, let's please go back to where this converstation began. - A price was shown for a 750 written on an IPL. - Posts were made that it would be nice to buy one at that price. - I looked up an inflation calculator to show just how much $650 was in 1980. - We talked about trucks. - You mention you sold two NOS saws for a song. - I make the comment that it wouldn't be wise for someone to buy a new saw with the intent of selling it in the future. - You assume that I'm talking about you and your 2 saws. - I attempt to explain the issue to you, but appearantly failed in the effort. Again Bill, the reason I said that you feel the world revolves around you is that you quickly assumed I was only talking about your post when I said it wasn't a good invesment to buy a saw for resale. I've heard this discussion come up before regarding buying saws for future value and seeing all of this, the big picture gelled the notion that it isn't a good idea. Your post was one contribution to this thought process. Did I say: "Bill, you should know better than to buy saws thinking you'll make a killin' off of them 20 years in the future! ;D" No... I didn't..... but you assumed that's what I meant. You shouldn't assume every issue is directly pointed at you Bill. You contributed a data point that added to the big picture. Thanks for doing that. I hope I've stated this straight forward enough. As for negativity, other than stating what I see from my perspective (yea, I know, the world doesn't revolve around me either ;D), and appearantly offending you Bill, I don't see much other negativity here. So, to help make that right... My apologies for offending you Bill. You offened me too Bill, by not asking what I meant before your defensivley<->offensive post insinuating that I was judging your motives for buying those saws. If you'd just sent me a PM, I would have been happy to clarify. Again, I never meant to imply that your 150 and 550 were bought with the idea to sell 'em for profit at a later date. The only thing that post did in my mind was prove the point that one shouldn't buy a new saw as an investment, regardless of the reason you had originally purchased them. Dan ps Why should I call you when we have the House to carry on these fun little conversations!

For all the wonderful advantages that happen within a forum.....this is one of the disadvantages of the "written word". If Dan & Bill were having this conversation over a beer ... it never would have happened. It is very easy to infer something(emotional or otherwise) that is not there. It is also easy to read something into a comment that is not there.

Bill We hope all 20 of those saws made you proud Well I guess I am a da'' liar as when I got there after a 5 hour drive I only had 19 saws in the truck. After unloading at the GTG I noticed I did not have one of my 3100G's. I sure hope it is still sitting on the shelf. It is too darn late to go check now after the 5hr return trip. I will look in the morning. Bill
