Hi there OldZip! Welcome to the House! This is a problem that many people have in working on these old saws, lack of an available parts breakdown (IPL). They do exsist, its just finding them that is the hard part. Hopefully this site can develop a knowledge base for just this type of information where we can all use it for reference. So stick around Zip, the site is less than 2 weeks old and I think youll find what your looking for in time. Eric

What model Zip do you have? I have some parts manuals that could be copied if they are any help to you

Howdy folks, I was wonderin' if anyone has an IPL for a 26LCS? I think this forum is a great idea. Thanks RaiseByWolves. I appreciate your stoppin by over at the Chain Saw Collectors Forum and tellin us about your dedicated place, here. For Homelites, I have a 26LCS, 5-30, and a 5-30N. The belt drives are my favorites. Those saws just came to me by way of a friend, also a collector and user of chainsaws. I expect to add more Homies to my collection, but not until the 26 is up and running. When I mean running, I mean.... able to go to the woodpile along with the others and do its duty. It's sorta like exercise, to keep them in working order. Nothin worse than gummy carbs and stiff diaphragms. ;D Salute! Sandy

I have just obtained Origonal copies of the Ipl's for the 450, 550, 650 and 750 saws. I plan on having copies (duplicates) of these made for purchase, theyll cost just enough to cover the cost of printing and shipping. Figured I would offer these due to the Scans for these saws in the link above being mostly unreadable. If anyone has or knows of other saws that could use better IPLs let me know. And if anyone has good IPL's for the older saws not in the above link (wiz, zip 4-20 "C" series and so on, you get the idea) Let me know if you are willing to lend me them for copying, or if you are willing to copy them for others.

I have many IPLs that are in digital format and are fairly nice quality, but the only downside is that most are big (~ 3 to 6MB). If anyone wants, I'll be happy to email these, but if you have dial-up, it can take a bit and definitely clog up your email. Here's a few of the one's I have: 150, EZ-250, 350,450,550,650 rev 1 and 2, 750, 540, 8800, , 410, XL - 123, VI-123, XL-102,102,103, XL-113,114,122, XL-901,903,904, XL-921,923, 924, XL-925, 1050, XP-1020,1130.

I have many IPLs that are in digital format and are fairly nice quality. Dan, are you able to read the PIL's that you have? You had sent me one for the 550 and it was little better than the one from the outdoors link. Im wondering if its my comp? My eyes?

Yea, most are just as clear as the originals, or at least they are close. I just double checked the 550 one I sent ya, and it looks awesome using the adobe viewer on this computer. Not sure why it wouldn't look good on your's.... that one is a bit puzzling. All number are clearly legible and the parts illustrations are very clear.

Here's one page from the 550 in its original jpg format I uploaded to photobucket for a check. Its native size is pretty big and you can see some areas of graininess, but at a normal size or printed, they seem pretty clear and legible. Dan

Heh, just went and looked..........Im A Dingus! I was using the magnifying glass, not enlarging it to XX percent. All the M Glass was doing was enlarging the blurry lil numbers that T couldnt read in the first place. Ill be OK......

I'm glad you discovered the problem. These print out very readable, but there is an obvious difference compared to an original.

Mine printed just as bad as they looked? Time for a new computer....... Anyhoo, Im off to bigger things but I need to figure something out. With fears that the OD site will up and vanish someday and in the intreas of making it easier to seek out the IPL for saws with missing UT #'s Im currently undertaking the monumental task of copying ALL of the IPL's to my comp. Heres the problem, Im coming up with UT #'s that dont match from the OD page to the number that is on the actual IPL header page (usually the carb breakdown). For instance, go look up UT-10423, it comes up as UT-10197. What would you do with this, list it as whats on the OD website or as whats on the actual IPL ? Help me out before I get too deep. Im thinking use whats on the actual IPL.

I'd vote for tracking them as the actual scanned IPL indicates. It may be that OD either has some errors with links, or just mismatched some of their scans. Tha's my $0.02

Yeah, this is what Im going with. Im finding that while there must be 200 IPL links there may only be 100-150 actual IPL's as some cover several IPL's of the same model but all have their own link. Im wondering if I can save all of these and take them out of Adobe format and just save them by saw. This way you would be able to put in the part # and search your drive and it would tell you what saw the part was for. Kinda like reverse cataloging! Maybe.
