Howdy all,
I have an XL-101 with serial# 3030111. I would appreciate and help with finding a build date. I believe it's a late '68, early'69, based on the date written in the saw case lid (2/69), but it's a wild guess. Any help would be appreciated.

With the 7 digit serial there is no way to know an exact date. Looking at records for saws sold during that time I’d say 2/69 is pretty close, probably originally sold around April or May 69

Check the carburetor date. Probably built 1-2 months after that date.

If the carb is date stamped, it'll be near the model #. I've personally found a lot of inconsistency from Tillotson & Walbro as to whether they date stamped or not. But it's worth taking a look!

Should have xl101 Walbro carburetor (SDC 1) Date code is on carburetors top cover on the right-hand lower side. Should be visible just taking the air cleaner off.
Date code stamped: month, last digit of year ( ie 128, 19, 29 etc )

I found a "98" stamped on the lower right corner of the circuit plate, so September of '68?
