Older lady said it was just sitting in her husbands garage for years unused but couldn't tell me if it run or not because she said she was deathly afraid of them and wasn't going to try it lol, She was asking $40 for it i offered her $20 to take my chances sight unseen that it would run and she agreed. What is funny is she said she had her brother put it in the back of the suv and when i met her at agreed location she wouldn't even touch it haha just popped the back and said there ya go..So i took it because it did look to be very little use and was worth the gamble.
I cleaned it up and found out that someone had put the fuel and oil in the wrong tanks, The gas was full of MOTOR oil yes black old sludge motor oil like her husband was using old motor oil as bar oil probably lol, and the oil tank was full of mixed gas. I just chuckled for a minute and laid it over a bucket and let both tanks drain and then put fuel in the right tank and oil and after 4-5 pulls it came back to life!
You would think i would be happy but i can't get rid of this saw quick enough as i hate the design it is a newer version with only 1 trigger and the safety handle to engage trigger and the darn thing pinches your fingers every time you depress trigger! And i don't mean a little pinch but it was giving me blood blister marks from it pinching me even through my thin gloves. heavier gloves probably wouldn't matter but still i don't like it so will probably get rid if it i assume it is from the 80's as it is all plastic and not metal and has primer bulb on it with sticker that says "Quick starting primer" and i also hate those just something else to dry rot i'd rather pull another 1 or 2 times then pump one of those damn things lol but that's just me i'm sure some people like them. Also it seems too heavy for what it is i mean it is all plastic yet feels twice as heavy as my XL and i know the super2 is 31cc and the xl is only 26 but i don't think the 5 cc gain can justify how much more bulky and heavy it is.
