Specifics on this saw: manufactured 05/27/08; 46 cc; 18" bar. I have found no parts list or diagrams for it; would appreciate suggestions on that. It's the only chain saw I've ever owned, and I'm attempting a repair for the first time. The thing has a serious oil leak, and I've removed several parts in search of the oil pump. I'm hesitant to tear it apart any further without a diagram or some expert advice.

Welcome to HOH! That saw is quite a bit newer than most of the one's we work on here, but we'll help was much as possible! There is a pretty legible IPL here: www.partswarehouse.com/Homelite-UT10517-42cc-46cc-Chain-Saw-s/345074.htmThe oil pump is at the base of the crankshaft on the clutch side of the saw. You'll have to tear the saw down to the point that you can remove the engine assembly. Good luck and let us know what you find!

Thanks. No way to get to the oil pump from the clutch side, then?

Looking at that IPL, I don't think so.
