Does it matter what gauge chain if the pitch is same as far as sprocket goes?? Ex. running 3/8 .050 switch to 3/8 .063 chain. Would I have to find a sprocket for .063 3/8 or just 3/8? I plan to replace my bar soon and have found a good price on 3/8 .063 with chain. My drive sprocket will need replaced also ( worn as well), but I don't see any mention of gauge on them, just pitch. Thanks Jim

Sprockets don't know anything about gauge, just pitch. The bars are gauge specific. CSW

The bars are gauge specific. CSW ... and, if sprocket-nosed, bars are also pitch specific. CSW is right on the money, just felt like adding that one little qualifier. Dan

Ya know, I just couldn't figure out how to put that into words and have it sound right. Thanks Dan Jim

I guess I've just never seen a C-71 with a sprocket tip 3/8 lo/pro bar Seriously, I don't think you can run the same sprocket from 3/8 to 3/8 LP, Teeth being equal, I think the diameters are different, probably stemming from the taller drive link on the 3/8. I'm going to check, and report back. CSW

On a solid tip bar, designed for 3/8, you could run LP, as long as you had the matching drive sprocket
