Was thinking,Sunoco 260 GT it's 100 octane un leaded or Sunoco Standard 110 octane leaded, mixed with Amsoil Sabre 80:1,for my saws, weed wacker and leaf blower.

I use regular gas mixed at 40:1 with stihl 2 stroke oil. Runs good for me, but I don’t have any crazy modifications done on my stuff.
I don’t know much about the high end synthetic brands. Possibly some others here might have experimented.

I don't think there's any advantage to running leaded fuel or higher octane fuel in these saws, not that it will hurt, its just a waste. Good going on the non-ethanol, you will thank yourself later. Here where I am the only non-ethanol is 93 octane, which runs fine in all my saws. I run 32:1 of good quality oil but everybody has their favorite. I know a few members here run the amsoil and swear by it.

I run 91 octane only because that's the only one that's ethanol free,& I use Amsoil at 65:1.I just don't trust the 80:1 ratio.I use this mix on all of my saws, new & old & have had no problems with using that ratio. As far as using a higher octane fuel you'd just be throwing your money away. There was a write up over on Arboristsite not too long ago about NOT using a high octane fuel.Chainsaws were designed to run on 87 or LOWER octane, increasing the octane does nothing for the saw,but will help to empty your wallet quicker.

I run 91 octane ethanol-free with Stihl Ultra at 50:1 in most of my saws from 1946 vintage up. My performance saws get VP110 with the same oil and ratio. The VP stores for much longer than the pump gas. I store all the fuel in steel containers. Just for the heck of it, I'm going to set up an E100-fueled saw to make heads explode.😉

Sawnami, you are a nasty man.
I use 93 non-ethanol at 40:1 with petroleum oil. Works fine in everything, no additives. Plastic gallon cans, mix 1 gallon at a time.
Sawnami, you are a nasty man, have I said that?

I think the key is NO ethonal. I've run 87 octane non ethonal fuel in all my 2 and 4 cycle small engines for years with great results. I use 50:1 Stihl oil in the saws and trimmers.

I stopped using Stihl and Husqvarna oil once I found out how much carbon they can produce. Amsoil only produces low carbon at the extreme 80:1 ratios or more. I just won’t do it. The saw is designed to run with a larger volume of oil so I’m sticking with my Lucas oil. It’s probably the most popular oil for dirt bikes. 40:1 Lucas semi synthetic with mineral oil base for me and they run better than ever.
