About a yr.ago I bought an SEZ that has a stripped out plug hole.I'd put the saw aside till I figured out what I was going to do with it.I've been looking for this saw now off & on for the past few months.Today while looking for another saw I found the SEZ.Isn't that the way it usually goes?Anyway,I've got 2 possibilities,I can use the insert that I bought for it & see how that works,or I can remove the cylinder & replace it with a good one.Obviously the first option is the easiest & I'm going with that option.I can always do option #2 if option #1 doesn't work. The saw fires on a prime right now,so I don't think I'll have to mess around with the points & condenser immediately.I do need to put a new fuel line in it & that'll be the first thing I do tomorrow. The 2nd thing will be to see if the carb will draw fuel on it's own. This could be an easy fix all the way around,or it can turn into a nightmare very quickly. I also found another SEZ with electronic ignition module.I'll test that tomorrow too to see if it's any good.If it is then I'll have another SEZ to try to revive.

Today was just not my day.I checked the electronic module & it was dead.I didn't really expect it to be good,so not too disappointing. The SEZ with the stripped out plug hole needed a new fuel line & filter,so I installed them.Next thing I did was put fuel in the tank & gave about ten pulls & it fired up.I couldn't believe my good luck,I didn't have to pull the carb. The next thing I knew I was looking at a sizeable puddle of fuel on the floor. The damn tank has a leak! I can RedKote the tank & see if that stops it,or I can literally tear the entire saw apart to change out the fuel tank. The latter is a giant PITA & takes quite a bit of time & I'd have to cut a new gasket. To top things off I was looking for another saw & finally found it too.(not a Homelite, sorry).I put fuel in it & got it running nicely.I was putting the final touches on the carb tuning & it just quit running abruptly.I checked for spark & found it had a dead module as well.I just located a new one for $49.Now you'd think that since I'm spending almost $50 I'd get free shipping - no sir! They had to tack on an additional $10 for shipping,& in reality it only cost $5-$6 to ship.I know the other $4-$5 is because they "handled" it.At the rate I'm going I wonder if I should bother getting out of bed tomorrow.

Move to Canada and you will really see what getting hosed for shipping is, especially eBay global shipping!

It doesn't really matter where we live. There are some real rapists on Feebay who'll charge upwards of $80-$100 or more (U.S.) to ship a saw. That's just downright outrageous! When I see those shipping rates for a saw I just move on.
