Im trying to set the high and low on my supper zip and need settings. i have the secound service manual addition just cant make sense of it .i always try a full turn on each screw.it says idle needle and main needle what is what is th idle needle the low and main needle the high needle?the old saw seems to work well after a long waiting overhaul.uncle threw it in the corner of his shed about 30 yrs ago.he had a saw graveyard there of a dozen or so saws.wouldent part with a thing.had to wait tell he passed away.my aunt told me to take what i wanted.lol.

Try 1 1/2 turns out to start. The older saws seems to like a richer setting.Back in the day the lo needle was referred to as the "idle" screw. This makes a little sense as when you turn the lo screw in it'll increase the speed of the engine by leaning it out.Be careful though not to set it too lean.

Manual say's.1/2- 7/8.if im correct.seems a bit lean to me.was going to try an adjust them in a stick of wood with a load on it.

That's the best way to adjust the needles.Make sure your saw is warmed up good.I'd run it for at least 5 min.to make sure it's good 'n warm.
