Was wondering if you have a video that might include setting the starting speed on a super mini. I’ve never messed with one before until now. I’m a bit confused with how this thing actually works. Is there a general setting to get the saw started and then fine tune it?

Are you talking about the screw that is in the handle on the top?If so,I've seen them get backed out quite a bit over time.I just turn the screw in about 1/2-1 turn at a time till the saw will start properly.I can't begin to tell you how many I've had to adjust.

Do you need to have the trigger locked when adjusting that screw?
It doesn’t really look like the throttle lever position changes when I lock the trigger. Shouldn’t the lever lift when the trigger lock is engaged or is that what that adjusting screw does? Changes the amount of throttle opening when you lock the throttle!

Don't lock the throttle when adjusting the screw.I've never notived the throttle linkage move at all.If you've ever had the trigger assembly apart you'd understand better how it works.I recently had to take one apart because no matter what I did it wouldn't change the saw's starting at all.Come to find out someone else had the saw apart,or tried to fix it with another screw that was too short. There's a small spring that the screw goes through & then sits in the trigger.By turning the screw in or out it changes the tension on the spring & in turn on the trigger.

The trigger could be broken away in the area where the pin locks it.

The trigger could be broken away in the area where the pin locks it. That is something that could be possible Charles.I was under the assumption that the internals were in working order.XL130,if you get no change after the screw has been turned in all the way, then you probably will need to open up the handle to have a look at the throttle assembly.

Possibly I’m just missing something very basic. When I engage the throttle lock on this saw (Mini) nothing really seems to change. In fact the compression release hardly moves. I’m not familiar with this system. A bit of a Learning curve. I can get the saw started cowboy style but it would be ideal to have the safety lock figured out.
