I agree, seeing the serial tag on this saw would have been phenomenal!

I agree, seeing the serial tag on this saw would have been phenomenal! The IPL for the XL-904 has a July of 1968 date, which is close to the end of the US XL-850 (early to mid 1969?) run and the beginning of the Canadian XL-902AM run, but the XL-902AM didn't have electronic ignition like the 904 and 850. I don't think the XL-904 is on 5terrysupersaws list either. Another thing that bothers me is all the literature would indicate the XL-904 was a US built saw. There are realalt a lot of gaps in our product line, both in US built saws, but especially Canadian built saws I believe it's a US built XL-904, the ID tag would have been to the rear of the fuel fill opening.. haven't seen that location used on any Terry built saws. The manual oiler location and de-comp. eliminates the XL-850-902-910. Been studying IPL's and trying to hunt down a picture of another XL-904 to compare to this one .. all day. The quest for Terry Industries info. has been challenging, began two and half years ago, still a long way to go.
