Anybody have any experience or opinions on a CS-40? I might have a chance to purchase one. I generally stick to older stuff from the 50's through the 80's but I guess saws from the 90's will be old someday too. Is the CS-40 a quality product or a cheap throw away?

I recently just picked up a cs40 myself. I haven’t ran it a whole lot but my initial thoughts are positive. It’s got some creature comforts that you don’t see on the old saws, namely anti vibe, primer bulb, higher rpm. It does have a lot of plastic in the construction but it seems well made. I would Imagine many parts would still be available as well.
I’d say go for it if the price is right

I've got a couple of that family in my collection...as Rowdy said, they are heavy on the plastic but it much higher quality than the crap sold under the Homelite name today. And yes, most parts are pretty readily available.
