HI Terry: I just found this posting. I just picked up an abandoned Homelite XL, ut-10515a --701620952 I see it is newer than 1980 and under 1985. IT needs some work. Has oil in the cylinder so I see that the flat oneway rubber valve in the oil bottle from the carb is probably the culprit. Are these rubber valves easy to find? I will try to clean the carb before buying a new one. Is there anything else I should be aware of in the restoration? I recently bought a Homelite Little Red XZ. I have it running fine now, but sure is loud. Any way to add a sound baffle to these without hurting them? Any words of wisdom wold be appreciated. Thanks Bill

UT:10515-A ( XL-26cc ) SN:701620952 was manufactured on; Tuesday, June 10th, of 1980 . Oil in the cylinder can be an indication of a defective check-valve or that the hoses are reversed. If the check-valve is on the end of a plastic T-fitting(01327) the part number is 98819 .. according to IPL:18663_2 I'm not sure if check-valve 69451, which is more readily available, can be substituted in this application. 15tss - Al

That 01327 fitting is one time that the 69451 won't work too well or maybe not at all. Stretching it to hit the ridge on the barb would likely make it non-operational.
