What is the difference between a Super Mini S and a VI Super Mini? Just curious. I may have a chance to buy a Super Mini S (no chainbrake).

The VI stands for Vibration Isolated,so the VI saw is anti- vibe. Ed

I believe the super mini is vibration dampened also. I have a super mini sl that is. Confusing as the seem to be basically the same saws

I compared the 2 saws specs on Acres' site & the only difference I could find between the 2 saws is the VI has .2cc more in it's engine. But you're right, virtually the same saw.Maybe one was made at the Terry Ind.plant?

I have 2 VI super mini's, one with chainbrake and one without and a Super mini SL with chainbrake. All 3 are Terry units. Still confused.

Sometimes I think they made so many different models just to drive me nuts!

Sometimes I think they made so many different models just to drive me nuts! If you look at the list of UT numbers on the TSBs I think there are at least four to six differnet Super Mini saws with different UT numbers, maybe more

Did somebody on here purchase the super mini s from Craigslist in Stillwater Minnesota? I was too slow on that one and hope a fellow collector ended up with it!

Very blizzardy here in North Iowa today. Getting some quality saw time. I feel dumb that I didn't look at the clutch side of the saws in question to begin with. The super mini SL and the VI super mini are made a little different as the pictures will show. Attachments:

I'll include the numbers. The first picture is the super mini SL. Second is the VI Super mini. Attachments:
