Hi Guys, Did the early 925's have an manual oiler system, with long lever and right side external mounted pump, like on a XL-700 and 800? This guy on Youtube supposedly has a SXL-925, at least according to the serial tag, but it doesn't look like mine or the ones I have seen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVMwNjNs_8I Cheers, Steve

Nope. The rear handle / air box isn't right, nor is the oiler. It looks like it has 5/16" bar studs. Front handle bar is wrong.........
The rear handles interchange and were made to, The later ones would accept either oiler.

Looks like a XL850 that has a 925 ID tag transferred to it. Thats my guess. Looking at it further I would say a 925 handle on a XL850.

Seems very strange. A solid-state ignition that I can't seem to find a match to. I wonder if having the carb # would narrow it down better?

Did the 850 have more than one ignition system design or is it perhaps just the IPL drawing, the two listed on Leon's site don't quite look like the one in the video???

The drawings don't do the setup justice...I agree with Fossil & 5Terry, I think it's an XL-850 with a swapped rear handle. If you watch closely, you'll see the front handle was originally green, another indication of an XL-850. I wish I had a picture of the module, but I've never had one in stock!

Pretty impressive. In a very short thread the ID was corrected and the root cause was determined. Nowhere else contains the information that can be found here

You guys called it. After getting in touch with the Youtuber, he confirmed that the saw was indeed a XL-850. Although still not repaired, he thanked us for the info. Nice job guys. Steve
