Hello, i have some Homelite oil. It states 16:1 it is sae30. I read other places 32:1, 40:1 or even 50:1. What should i mix (when using modern sae30? oil). For example for my xl800 or zip. What is the correct specs of modern oil i could use? Thx

Use a modern 2 stroke oil. SAE 30 oils are old school.

I run anywhere from 40:1 to 35:1 depending on how much oil is left in the bottle. As for oil I use whatever I can get at Home Depot, usually ethanol shield brand or power care. Haven’t had any issues and I’ve run my saws hard through oak and black locust. Now who’s going to challenge me on my choice of oil lol

I'm not sure which could be most controversial on this thread. Would it be the fuel mix ratio or would it be whether or not quaker state is worthy of being put into a vintage Homelite?
