I am the original owner of this wonderful little saw #32390930. It had started and run great for many years. It had sat
for many (15-20) years with only occasional use. A few years ago I tried to start it and it would only run with air filter off.
Purchased new filter and found that the saw wash hard to start.
this is what I have done (about 2 years ago):
- replaced fuel filter
- installed new fuel line from filter to carburetor
- purchased & installed carburetor rebuild kit
( carburetor cover says " HOMELITE"
"TEXTRON"
PORT CHESTER, NY
#3-21-109 )
- backed out hi & lo needles 1 full turn from seat
When attempting to start at that time, engine would run for about 3-5 seconds and stall. I gave up and put the saw away
after cleaning all fuel out.
I have retired from upstate NY and located to the central Florida area. With impending hurricane looming my interest in the saw has peeked. That has led me to this handy site. Today I mixed fresh fuel and oil and cleaned out pin holes in gas tank cap.
-switch on
- compression trigger engaged
- choke pulled out
Took about five pulls and the saw popped. Pushed choke in and next pull the saw started and was running. My thought
was : "wow must have been that gas cap? After about a minuet of idling the saw stalled. Now back to the same thing. Starts and runs for a few seconds then stalls. Be nice if I could get this nice machine running as in the good old days.
Thanks for any input you may have, Gerry
