Flushing out a fuel tank.

Hello again,
I was wondering if I could use mineral spirits to remove the junk from my 17 fuel tank?
I thought I read somewhere that it would devolve the magnesium.
I started working on my 17 and the tank is coated with a layer of dried fuel.

Mineral spirits won’t get old fuel out. I used acetone in my super xl and haven’t had any issues yet. As for the dissolving, I use mineral sprits to clean my saws constantly and used it for paint prep so I don’t know where that would have come from. I’m sure someone with more experience will come and say I’m an idiot for using acetone but we’ll see
