Somebody will be along which will have the exact date, but I believe probably sometime around 1995. John Deere bought homelite in 1994. There may have been some rebranded John Deere units sold until JD sold the homelite name in 2001. EDIT guess me and 5terrysupersaws had the same idea

Thanks man. When was the last sxlao built 1995 may have been the last year, not positive though. There is a SXL-AO UT:10045-F and 10045-FU (Old Blue) that was last built in 1998.

Thanks guys! Any idea what the bar should look like for a late sxlao? What I mean is the lettering. There's no trace of any words. It looks like it was black but not sure

I would imagine it would have a light grey background with HOMELITE (all caps) in orange. Leon has a catalog on his site from 1991-1992 which shows that bar on an SXL.
