Hello Friends, anyone have the recommended rpm setting for this saw? The AcresInterent site is indicating a 6000 rpm loaded setting. Is this accurate? Thanks. Steve

The spec sheet from Leon's website (https://www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/homelite-literature--information.html) shows 6000rpm "under load"

The 6000 under load is definitely the ticket...no load is going to be around 10,000.

The 6000 under load is definitely the ticket...no load is going to be around 10,000. 6000 loaded limit, OH BOY that seems very low. I had the saw out yesterday measuring the rev's while someone else operated it, anything under 8000 seemed under powered with heavy "load-up" starting around 7750. It seemed to be ideal with the necessary/required 4-cycling "note" right around 8100. Would running .375 sprocket nose instead of .404 hard nose be the difference (or make a difference)? Thanks. You may need somebody better than me to resolve this, lol
The way I see it changing the chain won't change the engines performance under load, it will only make it less or more of a load for the engine. Going to 3/8 and sprocket nose will decrease the effort required to turn, sounds like the opposite of what you're needing.
This is the issue I see with an "under load" rpm setting, what is "under load"? I'd double check for air leaks, as those can cause increased RPMs. If there are none, and it 4 cycling not under load and clearing up when cutting, I'd go with it personally. I've never used a tach on any of my saws, at least not for tuning purposes.
