Got this at the scrap yard. Looks like someone was pretty aggravated with it. Destroyed 240 by Clasec, on Flickr

There were some real jackasses on FB who shot at saws & one guy took an ax to a saw.I just said that anyone who'd shoot at a saw or take an ax to a saw needs professional help. Ed

Doesn’t look like there is much to salvage.

The part I needed was the top half of the handle which was good. Even the flywheel has been hit. Probably could have taken the saw apart in the time it took to beat it up.

Plug wire still looks usable. Sometimes stupidity can't be fixed.

There's a bunch of vids on youtube of people doing this, destroying weedeaters and chainsaws on purpose. I found this one the most interesting as you can see metal bits exiting the exhaust. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cT4tyH6LfzQ

I guess I miss the point of intentionally destroying something that still works!

I guess I miss the point of intentionally destroying something that still works! Yeah, me too. I followed the link to people blowing stuff up on youtube and that led to a video of a couple of guys letting a 16V71 Detroit engine self destruct. It screamed until it just bogged down and locked up. That wasn't good enough so they kept pouring the ether to it until it lit off again. A chunk of a rod barely missed one guy's leg as it exited the engine. He just laughed about it.
I just love those old Scrreamin Demon Detroit engines. Must be because they're 2 stroke!

I think I watched the same Detroit video. It was hard to watch. They were trying to get it to run away.
He did explain that it was a scrap yard engine and he did tear it down and explain the inner workings of the engine after it's demise.that part was interesting.
