Hello I just purchased a 410 online that was said to run very good. It has no spark. what are the Ohm specs for the coil so I can test it? Any advice or ideas would be appreciated. I have already tried a different spark plug that I know is good and I have disconnected the Kill switch wire from the coil to eliminate the possibility of a short to ground in that circuit. Thank You

Hello and welcome. The 410 has a solid state ignition module( Prestolite ) and cannot be tested like a points coil. You can try testing the primary and secondary circuits for continuity(inconclusive) but as far resistance numbers.. no specs. Check air gap, good ground at mounting points and primary wire connection.
If the armature is rusty then it may be a poor system ground connection which can cause module failure. Baking the module at 200 degrees for a few hours may help if it's a moisture related issue. Leon has a NOS A-93414 module for the 410...if all else fails.
Make no claim to being an expert on these..don't have one to dissect. "The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know." ~ A.E.

Welcome to the House of Homelite!
The air gap between the module and the flywheel should be as small as possible without rubbing, I use a business card. I turn the flywheel to line the magnets up with the module and insert the card. Then I loosen the module screws and allow the magnet to put the module against the card. Tighten the mounting screws and turn the flywheel to get the card out.
If you still have trouble, post again with any questions you have, someone will be able to help.

Be sure to do your spark testing with a new plug that you know is good. ( test for spark on another engine). Even new plugs can be bad.

410 Update It was a bad ignition module. I installed the new part and now have a good spark. Now I have a new issue to figure out, The saw will run for 15 seconds and quit. I installed a new fuel filter and didn't fix the problem. I plan on installing a new carb kit next. Thanks for all the help

If its original, most likely it has small cracks in it, which would be a air leak and cause it to run lean.

Have you found an IPL for the 410 .. available for download from Leon's site ? Homelite 410 Chainsaw IPL 17598 rev.3 (UT:10486-B) .. shows a Walbro WS-22 series carburetor. The carburetor rebuild kit would be a Walbro K10-WS.
