My two penny's. Why 30" bar? You can drop a 40" tree with a 20" bar...sure it'd take longer, but when it comes to bucking it you are still going to have to make two cuts anyways. Shoot in reality you could do those trees with a little xl....it all comes down to how much do you want to spend and how patient are you? My suggestion...look for a wiz (or similar old gear drive) that already has at least a good bigger bar on it, since you have neither bar nor chain for your zip.

I had a Zip from '57 that had a 30 incher, I run a 24 on the 600D, with full 404 square.
Every Homelite guy needs to have an old geardrive.

well after looking at the chain on the 77 i think the chain on the zip b is a 404 it has a 7 tooth sprocket on it and the chain is just alittle biger than the 3/8 i run on the 036 pro
