Per a question in another thread, it seemed like a good idea to start a board for the rebranded Homelite saws. Post your pics of what you have...there's a few rare ones out there! This is a great idea, but how about putting a line or two about each one so those of us who don't have as much experience with all the types know what they were as Homelites?

Was the Duramark sold by the "big box stores"? What year did John Deere step into the scene?

I believe the Duramark brand was sold by Central Tractor. Correction,Central Tractor sold the Dynamark brand.
Homelite XL1, XL Mini, Super Mini/ Duramark 16
Homelite XL2/ Duramark 10
Homelite XL-12, XL Automatic/ John Deere 350CS/ Duramark 20
Homelite 540, 8800/ John Deere 550CS
I found this on another site a couple of yrs.ago, Ed

Was the Duramark sold by the "big box stores"? What year did John Deere step into the scene? Duramark was a Hudson's Bay Co. brand . They were rebranded Homelite-Terry saws .. built in Canada.

Yeah and the Duramark stuff is the line I'm really seeking these days...they tended to have chain brakes and the all black paint scheme looks really cool!

What year did John Deere step into the scene? The first Homelite service memos with the John Deere name started in 1995, so it was shortly before that.

The SABRE 33 resembles the single trigger, top handle, Homelite 200 CLASSIC .. UT:10694
Not sure why Homelite would label a late model, single trigger .. UT:10696 a "Super 2" Consistent inconsistencies perhaps :/
