I’ve been searching for a service manual that would cover the 925. I have some questions about the fixed jet carb that is on them such as does the hi side needle set the same or is there a difference in how you set it? I’m also curious “punching” the old fixed jet out and replacing it with a newer jet from a newer model saw. I just acquired 3 super XL 925’s, I already have one running great. They all look great too but I know one needs a top end and I haven’t really got into the second one yet. I may not for a while considering I have one running now and what I paid for them I won’t be in a hurry but one has a full wrap handle I would like to get it going. The reason I asked about the jet being punched out is that the guy I got them from said he had punched the old one out and replaced it with one from a I don’t remember saw. Anyway just wanted to learn and study up on what I can about that carb and how to set it

Well.... It would help if we know which model of carb your talking about, Tillotson, or Walbro?

With the fixed jet does it pretty much mean there isn’t much adjustment for the high side? I just don’t want to risk running it too lean. I ran it for a few cuts last night and man is it forever more a screamer

It’s always safer to be a little to rich then to lean. With this saw is best to judge your adjustments in the cut, as it may 4 stroke out of cut because of governor valve. Keep going richer on H screw till it slows down considerably, then a little leaner ( in the cut).

The jet the guy was talking about, maybe it was the governor valve.
