Acquired a 240 today for my collection. Serial 5g2040123, ut 10630. This should be a 1985? The acres site indicates not introduced until 1986 though. Seems to run fine but oils poorly. I will be cleaning oil system next. Any common failures on this system other than being dirty? Dan

'85 sounds right, Acres' dates follow Homelite's and they are sometimes a bit off. I can't help with the oiler, do you have a manual or IPL?

Introduced in 1982. As for oiler, clean system and check lines.

A collapsed or cracked pulse hose will cause problems quickly.

Thanks guys. I assume Leon has the paperwork on his site, but i have not looked yet. I guess these could be a manual oiler also, but mine seems to have a diaphragm up by carburetor. Dan

I bought my 240, Model UT 10630 new in 1983 and it still runs great. I am having a problem finding the sprocket/drum. Does anyone have any ideas of where to find this part?
