When I ask questions like this it kinda makes me wonder just how important reviews might be. I noticed recently on ebay there is a seller with a rather large quantity in inventory (based on the numbers sold) of what they claim to be brand new replacement carbs for like the super XL and the XL925. I am guessing maybe more models but that the only two I looked at. My question is if these are not NOS homelite and are new replacements, does that mean that Tillotson and Walbro are making replacement for the carbs used in these two saws? If so has anyone had any experience with them? It actually looks like just the opposite of what I have, my 925 has a tillotson and the seller shows a walbro replacement and tillotson is the replacement for the SuperXL.

This is 'Lil Red Barn who is selling these carbs.I emailed Lee last yr.about his piston & ring kits for Homelites & asked him if he could have cylinders made as welll. His reply to me was (And I quote) "It costs me $10,000 to have a casting made for a piston & rings, that I can afford.A casting of a cylinder would cost me $100,000,that I can't afford." With that being said, most likely he has contacted Tillotson to start remaking carbs for the most sought after carbs that were on the most popular models of Homelite chainsaws. It says on his Ebay site"These carbs are made in Ireland".If you look at the pic & enlarge it for the carb he's got listed, you'll see that the screws have a star pattern to them.Tillotson carbs that were used on the XL-12 & SCXL-925 didn't have that star pattern, they had slotted screw heads,or phillips screw heads. These carbs are new aftermarket carbs by Tillotson. Well I'm glad somebody has the dough to put down to get some of these parts reproduced, especially by the original manufacturer. This will help keep the hobby alive!
