That is really an odd looking XL12 At first I though it might be some type of home made conversion but the rear handle is missing and it doesn't look like it was just hacked off. Look at that muffler ;D Is the "saw" fairly quiet If it is a factory job, the tag seems to indicate that, I wonder why the chain oil fill port wasn't blocked off

Here is my Homelite pump, The rear configureation is the same I just noticed that the oil fill port on pump is not machined. I had assumed that it was based on the SXL, but upon closer inspection the "rear oil Fill" would indicate that it is actualy based on an XL-12. I'm looking foward to getting it running. BTW that dust blower reminds me of a 007 jet pack! Too cool!

This things not a duster, it's a Homelite jet pack. I mounted this thing on my back today and fired it up and flew a couple lap around my property today, I stayed about 10 feet off the ground as I don't like heights. LOL

I'd look for DDT in that blower - Judging by it's era, the stuff was probably still pretty available. ;D

Calvin, here's a link with DDT info, It's a pestacide. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDT Mikevan has a point about the DDT. Come to think about it who knows what has been in it. I would give it a good wash down. CSW

Is anybody interested in this duster-blower. If so let me know. If not, it's probably going on Ebay, or I might just take the engine off and keep it for parts and trash the rest. The motor runs fine and it blows like hell. I didn't try to blow any chemicals.

Don't strip it, that would be a real shame. It has historical value. I would like to get it, but shipping would be pretty steep. One of the homelite nuts here will take it for sure. CSW

Hey Guys, Ran across this while searching for something else and thought about this thread: www.tpub.com/content/aviationandaccessories/TM-5-3740-211-14/TM-5-3740-211-140084.htmIt is in a tech manual from the Army for a sprayer for a UH-1. It looks a lot like what Chainsawwhisperer posted. Kind of cool to run across it in a tech manual, tho. You can use the back and next buttons towards the top to scroll through the troubleshooting and repair information they have.
