I have searched the internet for hours and can't seem to find a straight answer. I am looking to get a replacement bar & chain for my Super EZ Automatic. The local OREGON dealer is wanting to sell me a 16" bar with 3/8" by .50" gauge chain.
I believe that it will work, I just want to make sure before I pull the trigger on it. Will that setup work?

No particular reason I (don't) want an OEM bar. We have an OREGON dealer here in town and parts are easy to get and I've always had good luck with them. He's wanting $45 for bar and chain. I am considering upgrading to a 20" bar, but haven't talked to him about it.

Personally I wouldn't recommend a 20" bar for the saw. Especially if you intend to run 3/8" chain. I think you'll find it a little bit much bar for the power the saw has. I have an 18" with 3/8 on one of my super xl's and a 20" with 3/8 on the other and I prefer the 18 because of the power to bar length ratio. Now I don't own a super ez but hear they are darn good little cutters (why Im looking to buy one) but I can't imagine they are quite on par with a super xl as far as power. So I guess I wouldn't exceed an 18" bar with 3/8 chain on your saw and feel that 16 is probably optimum.

Thanks for your advise, I think I'm going to go 16 as I never cut anything that needs more than that.

Bill, I'm looking at a 16" bar and chain combo, Oregon 29571. If you have that or a similar setup, please let me know. Also, if you stock the clutch drum/sprocket assembly for this saw, I would be interested in one of those as well.
