I`ve been looking for a replacement 16 inch bar for my Homelight 240 (UT10625) I`ve looked on several sites that offer Oregon bars, but none of them spell out an exact match for this saw. It uses a 3/8 pitch, 56 link, .50 gap bar. Does anyone know of a good source for locating a replacement bar? I e mailed Oregon with the above information but have not received a response from them.

Welcome aboard, for starters its HomeLITE not HomeLIGHT as you posted. Just a friendly FYI My Oregon Reference book shows Oregon Part # 160DGEA061 for the 240. The same book also calls for 66 links of chain for a 16" bar, Part # 20LPX066G. I think the Oregon webiste (www.oregonproducts.com) has a pretty good finder tool on it as well. I like Oregon branded stuff myself but YMMV. Here's a link to the guide bar www.oregonproducts.com/en/single-rivet-guide-bar%2c-16%22/p/160dgea061

I have two different original Homelite bars for 240 chain saw. Numbers are PT-16371-G4 and PT-16381-G3. They have different mounts. chainsawlady

Later 240's were equipped with .325" chain also...so you'll want to check your sprocket. 6-tooth is 3/8"LP, 8-tooth is .325".

I don’t know of any bar that uses 56 links. What brand of bar do you have now? Chainsawlady has NOS Homelite bars.

Correction, I was given the saw and was going off of a new chain that came with it. The chain that is on the saw has 59 links. The new 56 link chain is too short.
