My question: WHY DOES THIS DARN THING LEAK SO MUCH YET NOT OIL WORTH DANG!!! Haha.
I finally took my 240 into the shop again today to look it over and see if I could get it working properly. It has been sitting for a couple of months (at which time I had taken it completely apart and cleaned it but as I took it apart you would think it hadnt been touched in years - a ton of oil and dirt all over. I plan to tear it all the way down again and clean everything up, I put in new lines (both fuel and oil) last time I had it apart. I also put a new diaphram in the oiler pump. I got a new impulse line for the oiler and will be putting that in this time. Can anyone give me some advice on how to stop the oil leakage and get this thing working well enough I can use it as a working saw?? Thanks.

Yeah I hear you Zip, if I wasnt cheap I'd convert to 245 oiler. But for now I guess I will just try to tear it down...I'll clean the pump up make sure all lines are affixed as they should be and give it another try. You would think that these things have to work somehow.

Yeah, I guess its just something in my pea-brain doesn't comprehend why a company would make so many saws with an oiler that DOESN'T WORK!!!
I remember reading up on the 240's oiler awhile back, guess I need to revisit. And I suppose the only time you'd upgrade the 240 if you had a 245 is if the 245 was blown and the 240 ran good...then you'd just swap motors, but you're right otherwise it doesnt make sense. I just wish there was some way to get this thing to actually work...
