I have a XL Auto. mag case, and points. Trying to ID the carb. Has L screw only, and has "Homelite" on it. I am guessing its either a Zama, Tillotson, or a Walbro? Saw is a HT-10444(4) and G7157 Cleaned up the points, set points gap and coil gap, replaced duckbills, fuel line, filter, spark plug and put on a new Oregon bar/chain set. The drive clutch teeth show ZERO marks, so my guess is when it lost its spark 40 years ago, it got put on a shelf .... lucky me! The saw rips! But due to how many years old it is, want to go thru the carb, maybe get a kit. Was trying to figure out which kit to get. Should have taken pictures of the carb when I had it apart, but after getting spark, was so exited to get it back together, I didnt!

You will likely need the numbers off the carb. Others more familiar with the saw will be by to tell if this is wrong but I think you just about have to pull the carb to see the numbers. Maybe the UT is enough, we will see.

yea, kinda kicking myself, normally I take pictures in a situation like this. Its funny that it didnt say one of the 3 main carb makers on it though. just Homelite and textron below it. There were several sets of numbers/letters cast and stamped on it also

At least one of the sets of numbers stamped in it will be the month/year the carb was made. I'm guessing mid 70's if it only has the low side screw.

thank you guys! this little homelite is so cool! I put the new bar and chain on it, and made 3 perfect cuts thru a 18 inch spruce tree that I dropped last week, cut like butter, engine is VERY strong! Something really satisfying about making strong cuts through a big tree with a 41 year old saw!
