The rains have finally given out here & I'm officially on vacation for a couple weeks. I browsed CL today for the first time in a while and the very first listing was a Super Wiz 55 for $25.- just the other side of town from me! Had just been listed and I called him ten minutes later. This is my second gear drive version now, along with the 4-20. They look pretty similar actually.
It's a Frankensaw, cobbled together with blue & red parts and the data tag is missing unfortunately. But it's all there and not in terrible shape. Starter recoil needs work but compression feels ok. Has the bar & chain and the bar still has most of the original Homelite logo.
For the price and only a short drive, I'm happy.

The saw looks great but the spare chain there with the oil bottles is too big for that saw, I am pretty sure. :{)

Come on, this is off topic so I just might delete all of you guys!
My helpful comment about the chain was right on topic regarding the picture of the saw and chain, and you guys dragged it off into never-never land.
I will admit to being old but I am not sure I like that tenured comment.

you guys dragged it off into never-never land. That's what I do best! However I only tease the people I like, so take comfort (or disgust?) in that! To the original topic, the saw appears to be pretty sound despite the cobble of colors. Probably won't take too much to get it running!

To the original topic, the saw appears to be pretty sound despite the cobble of colors. Probably won't take too much to get it running! That was my impression. Worst thing so far seems to be the starter/recoil is barely grabbing but that shouldn't be too hard. Only question is how bad is the cup worn. Aside from that, the throttle is sticking, not springing back. Still shouldn't be too bad.
