Hello All, I found your wonderful forum over the last weekend when I was trying to figure out the sequence for pulling apart a 330 for carb boot change and voila! here was the best thing since sliced bread! A 12 page tutorial which I might add made the job from start to finish 2.5 hrs. so thank you so much for supplying such a great resource. I have a few saws not quite what most would call a big collection but some neat consumer saws at the least. My Dad and I have between us a Skil 1616 Homelite super VI 2 Homelite 330 Old blue SXLAO Remington Mighty Mite 500 & 300 Kioritz Echo CS302 Stihl 015L and Poulan Farmhand 2700. I must say that the 330 is the first saw I ever cut with that has vibration limiters and that is quite a different feel. I was wondering what the general opinion of the 340 and 300 saws are. Is the 340 a quality Solo or a dud? Is the 300 the 3.0 CI I have been looking for for all around firewood use which is my only cutting use. Once again thanks for such a great place to hang out. Todd

Welcome Todd!!
As far as the 340/300 I've heard a little of both, some say they are good stuff, other say they are not so much. I can't tell you one way or the other but why not just get a 750? ;D Stick around, lot of great people here.

Hi Todd, and welcome!
Sorry I can't comment on either the 300 or 340. I do like 350/360s for firewood cutting. Yea, they're heavier than newer saws, but they're solid, with antivibe, and they look a bit like a mini-750 ;D.
