I've been thinking about hosting a GTG. I have two churches that have the space, and would put on a couple meals. One has a very active, young Mens Group. They had me come to a breakfast and throw Axes. No sissy, get in touch with your feminine side, guys allowed. The other church has a "firewood Ministry", called the "Wood Chuckers". I can get all the logs, knuckle booms, skidders, to set up. If we did it at the "Wood Cuckers", they would like some of the logs marked in fireplace length, to process. I was thinking of inviting WoodMizer" to demo one of their Tempast wood splitters. I'd like to see at least 50 guys. I'm still in contact with half a dozen or so tree company's so logs and equipment would be no problem. My thoughts would be the last week of March 2019. If either of the Churches wanted it this fall, so they could have the wood, that's possible too. Any interest? Joe.

Make a list of logistical requirements. 1) Port-a-Potties 2) Drinking water 3) Tents for inclement weather and "hospitality" 4) Sign up and records booth to have a history of who came and who did what, dedicated video/photographer, list of outside sponsors or vendors 5) but mostly look for free advertisement through the local news and radio stations. All these thing will make a successful event, draw sponsors and more people to enjoy the event in coming years. ChainSawPalooza

Probably. So many church elders are stuffy like that. It's not blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (unforgivable) and why people think God & Jesus don't have a sense of humor is beyond me.

I don't think we are talking about God and Jesus of not having a sense of humor, but rather members of the Church. One thing cannot be another thing or else anything could mean nothing. Its the same with is and is not, there cannot be an is not because if it is it exists and therefore cannot be not. I hear people use the phrase "those ones" all the time, when there can only be these.

Like usual, I made a big reply a couple days ago and forgot to hit post. The one Church had me come to breakfast one Sunday to show them how to throw axes. They put plywood down on the gym floor and took turns for about 2 hours. The other Church has a firewood ministry and would like to keep all of the wood. I may try to get both of them to sponsor the event. Both of these Churches kind of believe that men are men and women are women, and tend to do different things. They both got a kick out of the Ax Throwing Ministry.
