If the bearing can be removed easily it would be a tricky braze job, but brazing would keep the temp down compared to welding, so hopefully you wouldn't get too much warping.

I would think a guy could put it back together using just a few tack welds, using 4-6 small tacks, allowing the drum to cool frequently. just my opinion.

Keep using small tacks until the assy is back together. 'Zip, make shure ya use a mig with some gas. Shouldnt get hot enough to warp. The hardest part is going to be alignment.

Hey Zip, I gots to think'n. I dont think the other piece is bronze, bronze is a soft metal. The color might be from heat-treating or case hardening........

I looked at the new 10616 I have I don't know how Oregon puts the two pieces together. I don't see any welding beads or spot marks. Maybe it is sweat soldered with silver solder as billg suggested. I don't see any JB Weld either

I will assure you the factory solder job may not look strong but it is.

I've never seen any balance mark on these types of clutches. My take is the diameter is small enough and the material isn't that heavy so it probably isn't critical. Chainsaws have enough vibration from other areas that I don't think you will even notice if it is out of balance a bit.

So how did you end up welding it?
