Great looking saws Greg, Sometime I'd like to see a picture(s) of your entire collection. I know you have a ton of great saws, would love to see bunch at once.

How do figure Dan? I thought you had more than 40 saws already Nope, not even close. My collection is mostly SXL's, a few XL's and some odd stuff. I do have two strong running XL-500's though. I had two others but I thought that was just being piggish. I don't have room for many more.

I try not to have more than one model as well

I REALLY like that Super 2100. I think that will be my next purchase (or a similar saw)
You planning to fix the decomp? Thats one of my complaints on my C-91, by the time you get it started you're too exhausted to run it lol

Thats one of my complaints on my C-91, by the time you get it started you're too exhausted to run it lol Probably not. Looks like someone threaded the decomp hole and but a set screw in there. I could fix it with a new piston and cylinder but the ones I have are for another saw unless I change my mind.

Would a Helicoil fix that decomp hole? Maybe one of the solid steel inserts instead of a helical insert so you would be able to seal it more easily?

Those look like a couple of nice Super 2100's! I've got a 2000E and 2100AO to get to some day. Found another XL500 when I moved some saws from storage last week. I took my other XL500 to the last GTG to let the guys compare to Super XL12's that they had. It opened some eyes. 😋

I think the XL-500 is a lot of fun. It has 37% more displacement than the SXL, which I like to think is 37% more horsepower. I don't know if that's true but I like to believe it. And it seems to me that the SXL is no slouch. I have never run my 8 tooth XL-500 against my 7 tooth XL-500 nor against an SXL with 7 teeth, both of those races would be interesting.
OOPS, bad math, 27% more than SXL, 37% more than XL-12. Sorry.

Would a Helicoil fix that decomp hole? Maybe one of the solid steel inserts instead of a helical insert so you would be able to seal it more easily? The decomp hole is supposed to be smooth and the valve keeps it sealed. Someone threaded mine. It doesn’t leak ( 170+psi) , which is the reason it’s so hard to pull. The decomp insert looks like it’s pressed and epoxeyed in from the factory. I don’t know if it’s even possible to replace it.

I've read about a decomp port resurfacing tool but don't recall if it was Homelite or another brand.

Does the valve go in from the inside and seal on the inside? I have never seen one, I am imagining that the valve is a T shaped affair that you push in to open...
