Apologies Bill,
Just pointing out that your thumb position in the photo is not in a "safe" position. The thumb should encircle the handle underneath and not be extended to the side. I'm sure you already know this. It was my weak attempt at trying to add humor to the post.

In general there is little to no kickback potential in the cut I was making thus my thumb was fine.

In any event my technique may not be shared by others but that is just opinion. Post some pics of the races down your way. I never seem to see many pictures out of the south. I would love to see them. I know you guys have lots of them. Heck Fred should have lots Bill

Only race I've ever been to has been in the backyard and I'm racing myself! Well, there are plenty of drag strips, but not events for chainsaws in this neck of the woods. I look around, but have yet to find anything that goes on except maybe in the Atlanta area. Maybe when our son is a bit older we'll have to make some trips.

I would think Fred could help you with shows. Give him a ring. The closest US Axemens I see is in Winnfield Louisianna. There are many north of you but they do require travel. If all goes to plan I will be on the road most weekends this summer between saw event's, vintage kart races, and tractor shows. They do require travel and are worth it.
