I'm wondering if theres a bar for a homie C9 36" that can fit or be modified to fit that saw? I'm unaware if there's a Homlite bar that long that would work on the C9. Thanks for any and all help.

Those ebay bars are going to be your best bet. The NOS bars a crazy expensive when you can find them in the long lengths, and I don't like to risk used ones, unless your super concerned about keeping it original. I think they did make a 36" bar for the C-Series but they're pry scarce to say the least used, much less NOS. I don't think a C-9 would have any issue turning a 36" bar, but you may need to strengthen your thumb to run the oiler

But if your going for looks, bigger is better.

I use a 30” inch bar and full house on my C72 from time to time It pulls it just fine with some left over. I don’t see why a C-9 could not pull a 36. Just my opinion though I’m no expert

I have a 32” on my C-72 and in oak you have to watch it will load it up pretty good. That was pulling a full 32” though. I’ve been looking for about a 28” for it I think it would like that much better.

Maybe a full skip chain would help? I have a 28 on my c-91 and it takes pretty much everything I have to bog it down, but I cut only softwood.

I don’t have any experience with the skip tooth chain but from what I’ve read it’s great for soft woods but doesn’t make that much difference in hardwood. Again I haven’t used it so I’m not sure. What kind of bar do you have that is 28”? That’s what I’m looking for for mine but haven’t found anything yet

I'll check next time I have it out.
