I have about seven tomato plants right now, 40 potato sets (red and gold), a couple small rows of peas and beans and a couple hundred onion sets along with 10 or 12 zucchini and squash hills, 15 different sweet peppers, and a dozen each of cucumber, cantaloupe, and watermelon plants. I have herbs planted around the house including chives, basil, cilantro, parsley. sage, rosemary, and dill. One side of the house has 10 new sets of strawberry plants and I have close to 100 plants growing from seed in containers in the sun room for the July planting. We also quit using sugar once we found out we could easily and cheaply replace it with a several Stevia plants. It's amazing what you can do when you don't have to go to someone else's place to work everyday and how cheaply you can live. 20180515_120002 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180515_115957 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180515_115932 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180515_191854 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180515_191909 by Al Michaels, on Flickr

Nice work! And it comes with satisfying results. Some good looking soil there.
Stevia is good stuff when you make your own. I've never tried growing it but I'm still going off the pound of dried stuff I got a couple years ago. I extract it with vodka and it will keep for decades. 8 or 9 drops in a mug of tea & good to go. Don't know if your environment would support it but you plant several Maple and even Birch trees, you could tap them for sap/syrup every spring.
Amazing looking at your pictures these past weeks with everything so green. Cold weather just wouldn't let go here and everything is 3-4 weeks behind. The trees are finally green but still not fully leafed out. Had more snow in April than in February and needed a fire in the stove both nights again this past weekend.

Sure is a pretty place. I ran through Oklahoma a good bit back in the old cow haulin days. Nice to look around outside and not see 100 more rooftops

This thread was pretty far off topic and had taken a tone that I don't really want on HOH. While I respect the opinions of everyone who had posted, I'd prefer that type of discussion occur elsewhere.
The garden look great! Living in town, I have much less room but I make the most of it. I've got tomatoes, broccoli, string beans, zuccini, yellow squash, cucumbers, carrots, strawberries, raspberries, peaches, pears and apricots growing. Not bad for a .17 acre lot!

I agree, even though it was in off topic it got pretty far away from gardening. My fault totally.

My apologies, I appear to have a talent for tangents. As I hit the reply button on the last post, I was thinking, this has really gone far away from gardening. Not much saw related going on in my world. Burning wood again tonight, it's chilly out there.

I put up 40 pounds of red and gold potatoes, 10 pounds of green beans, onions, squash, and zucchini. Over 50 tomatoes so far, San Marzano (plum tomato), Arkansas Travelers, and Better Boy varieties. We've been making pico de gallo and salsa. I'd say we've had 40 cucumbers and 25 Cantaloupe, with no end in site. A dozen or more okra pods every day. Cilantro, dill, parsley, and sage is being cut everyday for seasoning. This week end I'm tilling up the 25x25 spot were the beans and potatoes were and also have a fresh 25x25 garden waiting to plant as well. 20180717_124611 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180719_140104 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180719_140107 by Al Michaels, on Flickr
