I wanted to put a new sprocket and hub on my XL-103 and when I pulled the clutch out little did I know I had opened a large can of rotten worms. The clutch was a 2-3/4" clutch but someone had used 3" clutch shoes and ground them down (sort of) and this damaged the inside of the hub. I ordered all new clutch parts from Leon and the sprocket from eBay, Leon sent me a new clutch plate, springs and shoes, for a 3" clutch which was okay, but I bought a 2-3/4" hub and sprocket. kysawman had sent me a brand new hub for a XL-100 series so I had the right new part for the clutch and I ended up sending the smaller hub and a new Super EZ muffler to Leon for store credit (blew that before he got the parts). I had to use a bench grinder to take a small amount of material of the back side of the guide plates to clear the larger clutch, I'll probably by new ones one day, but I think I'm okay for now. Next the Xl-123 I bought at a pawn ship for 20 dollar turns out to be a little more needy than the XL-103. The muffler screws had bee replaced and had worn through the cover, when I took the screws out the mounting nuts inside the body came with them. I bought a muffler off eBay listed as for a XL-100 series saw, it turns out to be a Super EZ Auto muffler, partly my fault and return shipping cost keeps me from returning it and I decide to send it to Leon with the small hub. I put a new rim sprocket on this saw and a new hub, and finally get a xl-100 series muffler, or so I thought. Apparently this is a one of a kind, cant find any saw this thing goes on. The problem is that the double ended studs that came with the muffler wont reach the mounting bolts which are 1-3/4" deep in the muffler body and the studs are only 1" long. Other than that the other screws that hold the muffler on work fine, but when I mount the cover with the included studs the cover sit 1/2" deep inside the muffler body. I take three 2" 10-32 pan head screws and cut the heads off and use nuts with built in star washers to affix the baffle to the new 10-32 screws and then screw it to the mounting nuts inside the body. The I use the self locking nuts that came with the short studs and put them on to affix the muffler cover. I have about 3/8" sticking out of the nuts so I use my die grinder to cut them off; all set. My first pull on the cord and the recoil spring broke. Ordered a new spring but found I was missing a washer behind the plastic shield inside the starter, ordered that and am still waiting. While waiting I'm going to pull the carb, put a kit in it and a new fuel line. I bought two new 16 inch bars and a new 20" bar and three chains, for the XL-123, XL-103 and 35. Next I tackled a problematic Super XL-925. I decide to put a new rim on it and was wondering why it was pushing out so much oil. After removing the outer clutch plate cover the outside spring was busted and had wedgec one of the shoes against the clutch which I believe made the oiler run full speed. After getting jipped on a set of springs from one eBay seller (still haven't got my money back), I got another set from Leon. I had major issues with all the fuel line on the SXL-925 so i bought the high dollar OEM tank line and filter combo (24 bucks), I also put tygon line from the metal connector to the carb and was able to get it started. After getting the new springs and putting in the new fuel lines and rim sprocket she started and ran well. I still have to finish up the XL-123 but I'm getting close. And that what I did on Spring Break. link to my XL-123, XL-103, and Super XL-925 albums
