I went through my Super 2's today.I got two out of three to fire on fuel in the carb. The third saw is a total waste - the handle is held together with duct tape,no throttle,it has no muffler & the clkinder is full of bar oil,it has no spark,& the compression is real low.Definitely a parts saw. The main question here is how do I get the carb out of these monstrosities?I thought the 410 was a bad set up for a carb,& the 150 too,but this one takes the cake.Whoever designed the Super 2 obviously had their head where the sun don't shine. Have to pull the engine out of the case. Remove side (recoil) cover (side handle has to come off to get side cover off), bar, and bar adjustment screw. From there there are two screws on top of the case, two on bottom. It helps to unplug and remove the kill switch and I always pull muffler and spark plug to make easier, but may not be required. Then the whole engine assembly can slide out the left (recoil) side, bringing the gas and oil tanks with it. Takes some "back-and-fourth" action sometimes.
From there should be as simple as the two bolts and pull off the carb.
I've never been able to do anything short of a spark plug or air filter with the engine in the super 2. Fortunately, I have it down to about a 10 min job to remove the engine after doing it a half dozen times.

The thing that bugs me most about little XLs and Super 2s is it seems the guide bar adjuster screw always wants to snag on the front part of the housing where the engine needs to pass through. They use that c clip to hold it and I usually end up losing it when I remove it. Maybe it's just me, but seems to happen every time.

Thanks Rowdy,I kinda figured you'd be the go to guy on this one.Yup,just like the 150,gotta tear the whole saw down, totally ridiculous.I tried to find out what it gad in it for a carb, but Acres' site was useless,it said"Walbro or Zama",no model #'s. All of mine have the Walbro Carb, and its an HDC, although I'm not certain of the exact model. All of mine have "HDC" on the carburetor near the mixture screws, you can see it with the carb in the saw, but you'll pry have to clean off all the gunk built up on it, lol.
I've always used the K10-HDC kit to rebuild them, just did one a couple weeks back.
Good Luck!

I'm very familiar with HDC's,I think I've rebuilt at least 6 already.I think I've got another 6 to go now,if there aren't any Zamas in there.I've got a lot of saws to put back together before my hand surgery & God only knows what'll happen after that. I checked out the last Super 2 today, what a disaster it is.It's missing the carb cover & the gas cap. It's compression was so low it wouldn't even fire.I took the plug out & there was absolutely no gap.explained why I had no spark.I put a gap on the plug & had plenty of spark then.I squirted some gas into the carb through what I thought was just a really dirty air filter - nothing.Come to find out they must've been cutting without a filter because what I thought was a very dirty filter wasn't a filter at all, unless they used sawdust as a filter. The carb was packed with extremely dirty sawdust.I thought "OK,I'll just take the plug out again & put some fuel into the plug hole & see if I can get it to fire".I did that & nothing again. So I thought"well this will be my "practice" saw for tearing apart so I know what I'm doing somewhat the next time for a carb rebuild. You're right Rowdy,it's not that bad of a job.I took off the recoil, took off the bar & chain, took out 3 screws holding the housing on - it was missing one on the underside,& disconnected the wire from the coil to the switch. The carb linkage pretty much came off on the struggle to get the engine out of the case. The carb that was on it was a Walbro HDC 65B (I think) Of course the thing was filthy dirty.Since the throttle mechanism is in good shape, could I take a good engine out of another Super 2 & just swap it over into the "practice"saw's case?I have a couple of double trigger saws & a couple of single trigger saws.I've got two good saws & two parts saws.I like these little saws, they're nice & light, can't wait to get one of 'em running! I don't see any reason the engines couldn't be swapped around, that sounds like a plan to me! Always good to have a parts saw around.
