Yesterday I called my local saw dealer to get some info on E10 kits.& he told me that he has a running XL-100 circular saw,he says he has to get $300.I think if I go there & dicker with him I can get it for a better price. He told me that they're selling on the internet for $500.Of course he's going to build his case to get the amount he wants. If I can't get him to drop on his price,if anyone is interested in buying this rarity,I'll buy it for whoever wants it plus shipping. $300 is pretty cheap compared to those I have seen sell. If it looked good and there was no shipping, I would be very tempted to pay the price. I cannot afford it right now so this is all hypothetical. I would dearly love to have one but it would be just to look at so pretty hard for me to justify. If you have any interest at all, don't wait.

I don't follow these, but if you check ebay closed listings, they don't go back far enough to be really accurate, but you will see a couple sold at $311, and the high was $660. There is one listed on AS for $525, a week ago and hasn't sold. So for a private sale I'd expect to pay $300 to not over $500. For me to buy one it would need to be on the lower side, but I'm cheap.

It really depends on condition, I saw a nice one but it had a broken angle adjustment knob. If it isn't pristine or in very good condition I'm not sure I would spend 300 on it, good ones come along, no sense in buying a dead dog. You find out how bad it was abused AFTER you've laid out good money, same goes for saws.

I stopped by the saw shop today & the owner showed me the saw.He fired it up with no problem, loud as herll though.I asked him what he did to it to get it running,he said he rebuilt the carb & took the points & condenser out & put an electronic ignition in it from an XL-12.He said the engine that's in it is the same as an XL-12.The paint was rough & non-existent in some places,as is normal for old Homelites. It did have a tag on it.He said it had my name on it,I told him to sell it to whoever wanted it,I wasn't interested. He also said that he was firm on the price.

I'll give you an update as I know it.the guy still has that saw the last I knew back in April. He's been out of circulation because of several back surgeries & isn't supposed to be back till Dec.It's getting close & I have to go over there to get a chain fitted for one of my saws,so I'll check on it.
