I have my new cylinder and new piston to put the 923 back together. when I took it apart the wrist pin had the hole side facing the flywheel is that correct? the piston had the wrist pin clip removal side facing the flywheel is that correct? See photo. when I put it back together what side should i put the wrist pin in from or does it matter. I rebuilt may old OMC outboards and removing and installing the wrist pin from the correct side was important (loose side tight side) Any other things I need to be concerned with?

The hole in the pin goes away from the exhaust, retainer too, just like you have it.
I would be cleaning things up before putting it back together though. Keep stuff from falling in or getting between as you reassemble.
