Hello all, reworking an ez auto stripped 1 of 6 case bolts(pozidrive#3), tried flat chisel, penetrant soaked for over 2 weeks , freeze penetrant release no good. Found a special on left handed drill bit set @ northern tools some time ago used 2 different bits and with second one took care of business when that screw backed out ...what relief ,it paid for the set with out question , best thing I have bought from NORTHERN TOOL got me out of a bind those left handed drill bits should be in every tool box for reasons like this one

Wrong way drills, very handy. Also for posidrives that are stuck, impact driver, the kind you hit with a hammer, not electric or pneumatic, in conjunction with valve grinding compound.

Was just on Mcmaster-carr website the other day adding those to my order, to replace the ones I've broken over the years. When you need em, they are priceless.
For those that haven't used them yet, when you do, everything you might instinctively do to avoid the drill binding during normal drilling, you want to actively try to make it bind with the left hand drill.

How is the valve grinding compound used? thx kc It's used to create more friction between the recess in the screw head and the tip of the driver. Just dip the driver tip in it or smear some into the recess of the screw you're going to remove. They used to make a commercial product, marketed for this purpose but it's essentially the same thing. You might also be able to use metal filings from around your bench grinder.

Valve grinding or lapping compound can be bought at NAPA, it contains grinding grit that is very sharp and hard, mixed with a grease like smeary stuff. The grit that actually came off a grinding wheel would be similar to what is in the valve grinding or lapping compound.
Normally it would be used to lap valves in a 4 stroke engine, smear it on the seat and rotate the valve against it. Jersey had it right for this use however, get it between the screw and the driver and locks them together.
