Hi Fellas,
Just wanted to post a quick note on my Homelite 450. I really like this saw. It is powerful (with torque) and fast if you want it to be. It will out speed my 550 but the 550 will hold rpm better in a big cut like a stump . Last weekend I ran my SXL 925 and the 450 for cutting fire wood.
The best I can describe the two saws is, the 925 is a steady torque loaded beast. The 450 is a QUIETER moderately torque loaded saw with speed at the reserve if you want it. I'm very pleased with both........Best of luck to all........J

Sounds like you're really having real fun there John! I've gotta run the bigger '50 saws more often. Heck, for that matter I think its been a year since I last ran a 925! All the wimpy little things I've been cutting (and there hasn't been that much lately) usually doesn't need bigger than a 360. Reading your post really gives an itch to go play!

Next time I'll run the 3 saws and update but its too cold here right now to enjoy the outside. Approaching the bit 0 degree mark the next few days. I'll cut and update when my mustache won't turn into an ice block.
Dan, on the other hand needs to get out and play in Fla.

We are looking at -20F tomarrow morning when I go out to feed the cows. Tonight a buddy called me from his home in SK. it was -40F there. Bill

I was out playing just a bit yesterday after work. It was in the low 50s. That's supposed to change here tonight though. Supposed to hit mid 20s even on the coast ..... brrrrrrrrrr! I hope to play around with one of the C-91s this afternoon for a bit.
Bill, how do the cows fare in that kinda cold? My father's farm is in S. Alabama and its no where near the temps ya'll are seeing, but he's always concerned with the calves when it gets even in the 20s. Do you have some special sheds for them or do they just make the best under whatever cover is available? Got to be some tough animals!

Dan.
They are tough as nails. I have never seen anything like I did today. I need to put a thread in the off topic area as I am still shaking my head after our -29F weather.
