I saw this really pristine Super EZ Automatic on craigslist for 60.00 so I bought it and paid 35.00 shipping, what I got was almost worthless, at least to me, or what I look for. The air filter was missing, not sure it had one in a long time, both guide plates were half missing torn up, the sprocket and hub were junk, the drive case was cracked, the drivecase cover was eaten away on quarter of the bottom and that much on inside part. When I started taking it apart the crude was 6" inches deep in it, hard to even see fins, I'm scared to remove the muffler and find out the parts list may get longer and more expensive. Turns out my seller seems to have a pill problem like a large segment of our population these days. There are two bolts that come in from the back that hold the drive case cover on, I am having trouble taking off the three screws on the other side in order to get to these screws. I also noticed there was no clutch plate on the saw, so I ordered one, but there doesn't seem to be any threads in the clutch to put the plate on, maybe I need to look closer; or they are self tapping. The plate is part 46 and the screws are part 47 on the diagram. BTW I had an old 4-1/2" disc grinder spanner tool from a long dead grinder and after a couple good taps on one side I narrowed it enough to work perfectly as a clutch removal tool 20180201_102820 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180201_154243 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180201_102833 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180201_102822 by Al Michaels, on Flickr clutch plate by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180201_101403 by Al Michaels, on Flickr

That is what scares me about buying a saw on Ebay. If you ever have a good one for sale PM me. Thanks, Tim

I don't know about those threads, but Loctite the screws when you figure it out.

I've got 3 red & white SEZ's one SEZ automatic,& one blue & white manual.Ichecked 2 of the reds, one has 145 psi,the other has 150 psi,all those 2 need is a carb kit.The automatic I'll sell if anyone wants it,I didn't check the compression, but it fired up & ran a little rough, probably needs a carb kit as well. The blue one popped for me,it needs bar plates & a new piston for the oiler.I have another red one that needs a coil.I don't even know if you could use your saw for parts Mike. The engines on my saws look nothing like yours, even on the oldest blue one.I only want to keep one of my SEZ's,the rest are for sale.

From what I can ascertain this is a very early SEZAO, and as long as the cylinder is good, I will get it rebuilt. I need to buy one of those hand impacts to remove the 3 tank bolts in order to remove the crank seals and get to the bolts to remove the drive case. then it's off to the cleaners. I cant believe people don't clean their saws.

Yeah,I know what you mean Mike.I think they think that they can just abuse the saw & think it's going to run perfectly fine. Some people don't deserve to have a piece of equipment.I wonder if they abuse their cars like that? That was a stupod question now wasn't it?Lol

Don't feel bad. I got a SEZAO like that too. Saw was clean, ran well, went to pour oil in it, pouring and pouring and Im like WTF, It was running out on ground as fast as I could pour. Seller tried to tell me saw was fine when he shipped it (it was packed well) but looking at the crack (almost a hole) you could tell it had been that way for some time. Of course all his pics (12) didn't show this crack. No pics of the bottom.

I don't feel bad for me, I feel bad someone treats equipment like this, because it shows immaturity and laziness, two serious personal defects. More and more often people like this surround us and are everywhere we go, it would seem neither standards or expectations are not even closely being met. No standards concerning ethics, no standards character, and no pride in living and working above the bare minimum. The upside is I will learn more about these saws from completely going through another model.

If everything was O.K. the automatic oiler would not have worked. The screw is backed out of oiler which keeps the two gears from engaging. A good sample that happens sometimes with automatic oilers.chainsaw lady
