Since the temps got around 50 today I decided to finish the XL-902am. The rear bulkhead for the adjustment screw was completely broken out and the PO had installed a 2" hex head shoulder bolt with no nut. A nut wouldn't have helped without the bulkhead anyway. I used Steel Reinforced JB Weld and made the bulkhead three times as thick as original to withstand the pressure, If it breaks again I'll take it to a welder . It was kind of disappointed with the damage to the drive case, guideplates, bar studs, and the non original screws and old fuel line after the seller claimed the saw had all new parts hoses clutch, carb, etc. Overall even though I paid a top price for it, these models don't come along very often in this shape so I am happy. After I finished the XL-902am I started on the Super XL-925 fuel lines, right now I am just waiting on the fuel tank grommet to get it all back together. My hand and arm are screaming so I'm going to rest it for a few hours. 20180118_112742 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180118_112735 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180118_112722 by Al Michaels, on Flickr 20180118_112711 by Al Michaels, on Flickr

I made this same post in chainsaw collectors forum and someone has messaged me and says I made the PO mad with my post, I don't know I can't even enter the forum. The whole situation is pretty crappy, but if anyone should be mad its me. I have over 800 in this saw due to the purchase of a money order, the return of that money order by the seller and a instant paypal payment to the seller to cover a money order he said he couldn't cash. Due to it being bank stamped in Canada it will be 30 days before I know whether I will be reimbursed for the money order or not. I had to take out a small loan to paypal the money to the seller.

Looks like the OP needs to grow up. If he can't stand the truth, that's his problem. You didn't directly accuse him of any wrong-doing. An obvious sign of a guilty conscious.

Well I read your post over on CC and I thought it was perfectly fine. You weren't mean about it, just stating some facts. The payment issue is a whole different matter...
But beyond all that, you have a beautiful saw that most of us would give up a nut to have in our collections!

I have paid a lot of money for the saws or tractors I wanted because even with flaws they stood out.

Wish I could hit people like that over the head with a sledge hammer. Hell of a nice saw anyhow.

Just an update on the XL-902AM situation. I had originally sent the poster two money orders for the saw. He asked for more money after we made the deal saying it was for for packing and insurance, but I had already paid 70.00 in the original money order for shipping. After he said he couldn't cash the money orders, I told him when he I got the big money order I would paypal him the money for both money orders which I did. It's been 6 weeks since he said he sent the second money order back, I pretty sure he kept it. I have not gone back to chainsaw collectors forum and never saw his rant and I will probably never go back there. He posted this saw in AS, HOH, and Chainsaw collectors site as a totally restored saw. I never saw those posts at the time, just after I bought the saw. I only saw the the craigslist post which said the same thing, totally restored saw. I wonder why he chose to express his displeasure there and not here or AS?

That's a pretty one and I really like the color scheme. Only have one question, why do you have that little XL12 bar on it. Just jokin, after an 8 year hiatus I had to do it. When I got my XL924 I was only given the power head and I really wanted to cut something. The only thing I saw with that pattern in my shed was an XL12 with a 12 inch bar, it looked different, to say the least, Joe
