I've got 2 magnesium XL2 auto. One is port chester NY 1973 and one is Charlotte. The Charlotte SN# is gone. When did the move occur? I have discovered a bunch of minor casting changes. Most people would probably never pick up on them.... Later of course, this family changed to plastic. I've worked on a few of these also. TIA

I was curious about the move myself. I have run across a few NOS parts in white boxes where red was all I was used to so I kinda wondered about the legitimacy of the parts. The more I looked into it though those parts were out of Charlotte.

I refreshed myself and changed port washing to port chester. Apparently port chester is right across the river (Mill street bridge) from Byram (Greenwich) Connecticut headquarters. I've driven through there many times on I-95. The articles were great to better date 2nd saw... after Jan 0f 1976. I have a third saw which is a plastic single trigger 200 classic w/chain brake UT10719C sn HP2280104 Theoretically an adjustable oiler. Saw was scrapped for oiler problem.

Port Washington is in Wisconsin Home to Simplicity, Bolens, and others, easy mistake
